FEATURES
Due to some domain and user costraints, Corunix is designed to be booted from a Windows server, although it was booted from a Linux server at early stages of development. In the current deployment at La Corunna Educative Network, a Windows Server 2003 supports up to 15 Corunix thin clients.
The project can be split into the following parts:
- Package selection and customization from a Debian GNU/Linux distribution to suit our needs.
- Changes on a standard Linux kernel to be able to boot on the NetworkStation and improve graphics support.
- Development of new software to suit our needs:
- Pam_preprofile: PAM module to force execution of a preconfigured script each time a user logs into the computer, just before she can access her account.
- Lanzador: Wrapper script to do some tasks each time a user launches a program.
These software components can be reused by other free software projects and Linux/Unix end users.
