Features
PhpReport has been designed with simplicity, flexibility and pragmatism in mind, ready to work on a production environment. Among others, it has the following features:
- Technical features:
- Use of PostgreSQL as database backend.
- Two authentication backends: LDAP and SQL. LDAP backend uses the same schema as pam_ldap expects.
- Currently, there is no internationalization support, and only spanish language is available.
- From the user point of view:
- Storing, editing and deleting of daily reports for each employee or staff member. Each report is composed of tasks, each one including start and end time, project, task type and description.
- Calendar, for easy jumping to another day's report.
- Quick statistics (time worked on current day and current week).
- Stored queries ready to be launched.
- XML import for legacy or offline reports.
- From the administrator point of view:
- Flexible query tool, which allows to define arbitrary SQL queries with parameters.
- Queries can be kept private for the admin or be published to be used by the employees.
- Global and per-user report locking, which prevents employees to edit old reports, varying past statistics.
- Label manager, to create, delete field labels, like project names, task types, etc... The labels can be activated or deactivated to prevent employees about using old labels (e.g.: names of projects which had ended).
- User manager (when using SQL auth backend), allowing to create/delete/password chango of normal and admin users.
